Great Wall Marathon!

"Your body will argue that there is no justifiable reason to continue. Your only recourse is to call on your spirit, which fortunately functions independently of logic."
-Tim Noakes

The Great Wall of China Marathon!

The Great Wall needs a Great Landscaper :)

Porta-Potties that don't smell! I suppose someone has to change that bag...

These are my friends that raced with me: Megan and Ryan. We were on a mountain, so it was very cold in the morning.

You don't believe me? Look! The Great Wall is on a mountain!

This area is known as "Badaling."

I don't think he was in the race, but he looked awesome with his ski poles!

This was such a dangerous race - these stairs are 3000 (ish) years old! I stepped where Ancient Chinese Warriors stepped - So Cool!

A goat and a dog ran parts of the race with us leading up to the wall!

Barefoot Bandito and Marathon Man!

So cool!

We finished the marathon in 11 hours. The professional runners finished in about 5 1/2 hours.

Temple of Heaven: This is actually a giant park and it has a beautiful garden, live music, interactive dancing, and interactive sports/games. I highly recommend visiting this area; it was a lot of fun!

Temple of Heaven up Super Close...

These Traditional styled buildings are mixed in with Modern styled buildings. So Cool!

Tiananmen Square: This building has a picture of a man who is also on the Chinese money.

Mao Zedong: Founding father of The People's Republic of China (1949)

Forbidden City: It was indeed forbidden... a lot of places are closed on Mondays.

I tasted the scorpion and I liked it!

Slimy, yet satisfying

The snake was just OK...

I didn't taste the giant spider (Tarantula) - I got a little woozy to be honest...

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
